Mothering Sunday and Easter card and candle making workshop
Saturday 5 March
L’Arche Craft Workshop – West Norwood
Come visit us to make a handmade candle in your favourite colour and match it with a Mother’s Day card using lots of papercraft techniques… stamping, die cuts, stickers and more – go for the fun look or stylish… it’s up to you!
Rock Paper Scissors members will be there to help with the workshops and give crafty tips 🙂
Note: The Stitch community group has been cancelled for that day – please check out their website for more news – they have a google calendar that gets updated with any upcoming projects.
Lots of people came to our Christmas Fayre which meant a lot of cake, mince pies and mulled whisky was consumed so just as well there was a band playing to top it all off!
(note: there were people there but when you produce a large camera people suddenly decide to stand behind the photographer! chickens ;-p)
Music by Uffington 357 – a band from West Norwood (London SE27) playing a beautiful blend of soul, funk and Jazz. with Sue Harvey, Myles Runham and… (I’ll update when I find out! sorry)
RPS, The Stitch & West Norwood Bzz Garage – all projects started by the Open Works project were recently mentioned in the Guardian and you can see Agnes (The Right Stuff Vintage), Tara from the Stitch and Wayne from Bzz Garage photographed and interviewed about these projects.

Lidia is the person who will be running the next candle making workshop on the 12th December.
AND it will be late night opening for RPS on the same day – Rum punch anyone? waves hand in the air
Facebook Event Page – come say hi and to let us know you are coming for the Rum Punch … ok… maybe not so RPS and L’Arche can drink it over cooling candles instead 😉
Fab Candles at L’Arche Craft Workshop
The Candle making workshop at L’Arche in West Norwood was a great success – lots of people came and another workshop is being planned!
Some people asked if it was every weekend!
Here are some photos of the day – lots of lovely candles and a few ice candles were made too (the round ones with ‘holes’ in them which are beautiful) – the workshop was suppose to last a couple of hours but it went on all day – some people had to go back in order to finish the candles.
Another workshop will happen possibly the last week of November but we will post up information soon. (see below for L’Arche social media links and for Rock Paper Scissors & The Stitch who will be posting when it will be)
