well… it’s nearly December and we have had one Christmas Fayre already at West Dulwich Rosendale Road which went rather well… flippin cold though.
So here’s the info on the coming up dates you can find us and L’Arche handmade goodies to give to your loved ones… and yourself obviously
…self love is important! 🙂
Rock Paper Scissors London and L’Arche will be at the Impact Hub Christmas Market this Friday from 6pm to 10pm at Pop Brixton
You will discover prints, jewellery, food and other crafts created by members of Impact Hub Brixton and other Lambeth creatives which will make your Christmas Gifts totally unique and with an extra warm fuzzy feeling of supporting local small business!
Never been to Pop Brixton before… here’s a map – it’s the container city type structure with tons of food and Christmas spirit!
L’Arche Garden Christmas Fayre with RPS & WN Feast
Want to sell at L’Arche & RPS & WN Feast Christmas Fayre?
If you would like to participate in the Xmas Fayre on Sunday 4th December, I’d be grateful if you would please email me by 3.00pm on Wednesday 30th November.
Hire a table space (approx 3ft x 4ft) at our Xmas Fayre on Sunday 4th December at L’Arche’s Gothic Lodge, 21 Idmiston Road, West Norwood SE27 9HE. The cost will be £10 – payable on Sunday 4th December, which goes to L’Arche, who will be providing tables (indoors and outdoors) and some weather protection. If you would like to bring your own gazebo, please let us know.
Stallholders will need to set up on site at Gothic Lodge from 9.00-9.30am on Sunday 4th December and the Fayre will run alongside the Christmas Feast (on and around Norwood Road/Norwood High Street) from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
We do ask stallholders NOT to sell greetings cards (unless they feature prints of the maker’s own original artworks/photographs), candles or christmas wreaths, please, in order to avoid competing with those products that are handcrafted by the L’Arche charity community.
West Norwood Feast are also selling their new 2017 Calendar so keep an eye out for that Feast fans!
Also The Stitch will have their fundraising stall at the main Feast area in the Church Grounds so check out those handmade goodies – great for stocking fillers too and Christmas decorations all made to help keep the community group free for everyone 🙂
L’Arche and Rock Paper Scissors will be at the City & Country Farmers’ Markets (CCFM)
St Mark’s Church, The Oval
Saturday 12 March
It has a very social feel with friends meeting at our designated outdoor café area to eat some of the delicious food on offer – including Oriental Thai food and delicacies from Guadeloupe. If you fancy arts and crafts there are also stallholders selling items such as unique jewellery fashioned from bicycle chains.
The market has proved to be extremely popular not least with the farmers and other food producers who prefer it over other markets, but with shoppers who stagger home with bags full of shopping and come even when the weather is bad.
The L’Arche charitable community and local maker collective Rock Paper Scissors (RPS) are holding their Easter Fayre at the L’Arche Garden in West Norwood on Sunday 20th March.
In addition to selling L’Arche and RPS art and craft work, limited space is being offered to other local makers. (see below for map and photos of the Garden).
Up to 12 tables/sections of tables will be available, each with average dimensions of approximately 3 ft by 4 ft. A variety of tables will be provided in and around the garden of the L’Arche community lodge at 21 Idmiston Road SE27, located inside the garden workshop and greenhouse and outdoors. While L’Arche will provide the tables and have some tarpaulins and a gazebo to provide protection in the event of bad weather, makers may wish to bring their own covers/gazebos (subject to size and garden location).
Each table/space will cost £15 and all of the fees will go directly to the L’Arche charity.
Further information about L’Arche and RPS, including photos of the L’Arche Garden, can be found at: http://www.larche.org.uk
You can keep up to date on this collaboration via L’Arche and RPS Facebook pages – click images below to visit and follow!
If you are interested in taking part in the fayre, please email both email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org with a description of the work you propose to sell – including photographs, links to your website/blogs/social media sites – and an indication of how many tables/spaces you want to hire, confirmation of your public/product liability insurance, etc. Deadline Sunday 13th March
We would be grateful to receive your email enquiry as soon as possible in order that L’Arche can organise the fayre. L’Arche will notify selected stallholders asap in w/b 14th March.
If you are offered space at the Fayre, you will be asked to provide payment in person at the L’Arche shop on Norwood High Street or via BACS payment by 3.00pm on Friday 18th March (please note that fees will be non-refundable after the 18th March).
Many thanks and we shall hopefully meet you soon.

South Norwood Community Festival is a free family event a few minute’s walk from Norwood Junction station.
Organised by volunteers to raise money for local charities, SNCF 2015 has a fun fair, music of all kinds, food of every description, and a varied programme of events.
SNCF builds on last year’s successful festival in the park with local legends Boston Brew, Birdogg, Ruby Red, Famous Last Words and Blues Hammer performing, along with another dozen or so bands on the main ‘Roger Piner’ stage.
There is also a second stage, DJ zone, arts and crafts stalls, a wide variety of food and of course a beer tent. We would like to thank all of the local businesses and sponsors who make this event possible.
This festival is for EVERYONE, it’s free, and it’s friendly. (quote from website)

Crochet & Knitted Accessories
I’m Elizabeth and I make crocheted and knitted accessories.
I’ve been crocheting for about 10 years and my excitement is the same as when I first started because there are so many possibilities and always something new to learn. I love the act of using a simple hook to transform lengths of thread into something that is usable, wearable, or a piece of art.
My background is in Geography and Statistics and whilst studying and working in these fields, crochet always came along with me. Whilst on the surface these subjects may seem far apart from textile work, there are connections: exploration forms a large part of both Geography and the creative process; and calculations are critical to Statistics and to the ability to produce a piece to a specific size.
My aim when making is to create something fun and functional, with an edge.
Bill – Bill Hull Photography will be bringing a range of photographic prints, framed, unframed, of various sizes as well as greeting cards
Mounted prints in various sizes to fit your frames
Cards as well as prints will be available
Local photographs make great gifts!
Freelance Photographer & Visual Designer
When I started in photography, large format plate and rostrum sheet film cameras were normal in studios. I processed and printed (darkroom work) with such formats, in my personal and freelance work I’ve used 35mm SLR’s and large format 6×6 cm twin-lens film cameras. I am familiar with both old and new techniques. Manipulation and enhancement in the past was completed in darkrooms and or as screen prints, but nowadays I use DSLR’s and digital applications, such as Adobe’s Creative Suite – PhotoShop, Illustrator; Lightroom, Affinity – Photo/Design, etc.
For more than forty years, I have been working as a photographer in London, England, a location that is reflected in my work. I try to capture my part of the world as I observe it and sometimes play with the results (retouch, enhance and manipulate images). I presently sell my work as prints (enlargements) and greetings cards to local businesses including, for example, giftware shops, florists, bookshops and art framers in London at locations of Clapham, Dulwich, Herne Hill and Brixton together with distribution throughout the UK and internationally to offices and homes in the USA and Australia.
Speciality work includes
Product placement studio pack-shots (still-life); studio location food photography/videos; studio location portraits
Public relations (PR)
Digital image manipulation; processing; retouching; enhancements
Land/City/Sea and Waterscapes
DTP/design & scanning;
Information technology on Macs
Pre/post-production video camera & editing
In my work as a commercial freelance food photographer/video cameraman, I contributed to the publishers Thomson and Cengage, for their Professional Chefand Food & Beverage Servicesrange of books and online videos. I have also taught photography and darkroom skills to others, running courses that demystify photography and simplifying the developing process to all ages and abilities.
